Carrabba’s Italian Grill

There are not many restaurants that have a big selection of vegan italian foods. Carrabas has some.

As an appetizer, the zucchini fritte is pretty safe. It’s also REALLY GOOD!

You have reiterate to whoever is serving you, “no cheese nor meats please” and they’ll make it happen.

I ordered as my main meal the Pasta Sostanza – I replaced the tagliarini pasta with whole wheat pasta. It came with with sautéed mushrooms, artichoke hearts and spinach in tomato basil sauce topped with seasoned breadcrumbs (no breadcrumbs). And I also said no cheese please!

I am pretty sure the bread they serve you is vegan. Most breads are. And the italian seasoning with the olive oil is fantastic. God I love Italian food!

Well enjoy!

  2. Thanks for the vegan options. A Carrabbas just opened near me. When we went there were tons of staff training as it was only their second day. Our server was so nervous (“I’m sorry but I’m so nervous” was repeated several times). She didn’t know the word vegan so I explained and tried to reassure her that there was nothing to be nervous about and to relax. I was afraid to flag down a manager or another staff person because I didn’t want her to freak out, so I ordered what I thought would be vegan (think I made a mistake on the dressing), passed on the bread (bummer) and whole wheat pasta (the w.w. pasta at BRAVO I discovered later contained egg whites and milk!). I love what you ordered and will do the same next time-looks really good 🙂
