Hello!! Welcome to my page! I live in Miami, Florida and I am a vegan. I have been a vegetarian for the past 5 years and a vegan for about 6 months. I do it because I believe it is ethically and morally wrong to use animals as food, when we don’t need to anymore. We have evolved so much that we can rely on plant based foods alone and never hurt another animal again. The health benefits alone should encourage most people to accept a vegan diet, but the moral aspect is what does it for me. I feel healthy inside and out knowing that I am putting good things in my body and not harming any animals in the process.
I grew up in a meat eating family and when I decided to stop eating meat I was suddenly in a special “diet” or anorexic. My family has never understood and they still offer me meals with meat in them. I understand that it’s not the most practical thing to do, but IT IS the BEST thing to do. Someday I hope people stop looking at meat and start growing their empathy towards the animals being slaughtered each day. Someday I hope that everyone understands that we are not meant to make other being suffer for our pleasure.
Lots of people ask me what I eat since I don’t eat meat or animal derived products, such as dairy or eggs. Well I have made this blog to share with all of you my foods and my thoughts. Being a vegan has been one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Since it is really hard sometimes to try to eat fully vegan, I try my best to do so. However, I won’t go overboard if something in the plate touches each other of if the packaging says that there might be traces of milk or something.
I hope you enjoy it and you try it for yourself sometime! Start small. Any difference counts. Even if you do meatless Mondays and start with that. Whatever your level of eating meat or types of meat, even decreasing your meat intake to one day a week will have tremendous positive impact on your health, the environment, and animals’ lives.
